TOP NEWS STORY- NEW LEADER OF THE LABOUR PARTY

 Last Saturday, Saturday 25th September Ed Milliband (40yrs old) replaced acting leader Harriet Harman as head of the Labour party. Ed Milliband beat his older brother David by the narrowest of margins. Ed received 50.4% of the votes cast leaving 49.6% for David. This was due to a couple of last minute votes from the Trade Unions. To quote Ed: " A new generation had taken charge of Labour and it had to change."

In case you were wondering what hapened to the othr candidates, Ed Balls came 3rd, Andy Burnham came 4th and 5th and last was Diane Abbott. (These were all MPs).
